Usually the suburb turning out new restaurant openings, this week Ponsonby welcomes a new spot to unwind post-rabbit pappardelle and be resuscitated after a night-out on the espresso martinis. Lifestyle and day spa brand Spring Spa has opened the doors to its fourth New Zealand destination at 228 Ponsonby Road, joining fellow pamper operations in St Heliers, Wellington and Queenstown.
Spring is the spinoff of East Day Spa, which landed with its luxe day spa experience 15 years ago. The brand's first outpost opened in 2014 in Seminyak, Bali, and just last year was named Best Spa in Asia at the World Spa Awards.
At the Ponsonby opening spa dwellers can expect to be pampered under the brand's "social spa" concept, which has been designed to provide all your staple spa services and therapies in a social environment. The space is the largest of the New Zealand destinations and boasts seven private treatment rooms, including two reserved for couples, a dedicated spray tan room and manicure and pedicure pods.
